Overall, I like these very much so far. The only thing I'm not wild about is the partial back; I've never had partial-heel-cup footwear, but I had thought it would hold onto my heels more than it does. BUT, that's entirely a personal preference and many people prefer the "partial clog back". AND I also do have to say that the partial heel-cup/back on these *is* SOFT!; there is absolutely no "cutting" or irritation of any kind. So overall, these are *very* comfortable, have surprisingly-good arch-support and cushioning, and they seem like they'll keep my toes warm in the Winter. The color is a pleasant earthy red or maybe cranberry color, that I personally like very much. As an aside, the color shown in the product photo was very accurate on my laptop (which still has the factory RGB color settings). The faux-fur lining is different from my previous wool, faux-sherpa, and so felt-lined slippers, but feels kind of nice, and *definitely* is soft across the tops of my feet, which are more thin-skinned and sensitive now than they were when I was younger.Regarding the size:The faux-fur lining takes some space, so the resulting fit is a bit to the smallish side, and I'm not sure there will be enough room for me to wear these with socks; usually, a men's 8 allows me to wear socks *and* add an insole to my left shoe, but so far, these don't. On the other hand, the uppers *are* fabric, and it's very possible they'll "give", or stretch a little - I just haven't yet had them long enough to say for certain whether they will or won't. What it boils down to is: if you'll be wearing socks - especially if they're heavy ones - with your slippers, it might be worth considering a larger size, but I didn't see half-sizes.The sole is a high-density rubber "foam" - I'm not exactly sure what it's called, but is does have some "give"; on the very bottom. there is a synthetic but sturdy sole with some texturing, as so many slippers seem to be now. The intent is to allow one to step outside if need be, however, I simply do *not* wear my indoor shoes/slippers outside (or wear outside shoes indoors), so I can't say any more than that regarding their potential weather tolerance. I mean, they're slippers, not mukluks =;-) BUT, the sole has enough thickness and the bottom has enough texturing so that, if you spill a bit of water, or drop an ice cube in the kitchen, your feet will remain dry and you won't slip so easily.I received these in exchange for my honest and unbiased evaluation and review.
