Instructions are sparse at best but not many parts and it took about an hour to assemble. I've used it twice at freeway speeds and the bikes just wouldn't move. The clamping mechanism is an ingenious invention. Women's bikes are a challenge, but the right setup and you're good to go. I keep the rack in the garage. It takes exactly 10 minutes to mount the carrier on the car, load and secure two bikes. Discharge in about two minutes. Best mount for the money
