I made the mistake of buying two very cheap bedside lamps in my spare room in a hurry (about 20 minutes before my overnight guests showed up, didn't have time to read the labels or search them for anything right). When I got home and installed them, I made the unfortunate discovery that my regular bulbs were too big and sticking out over the crappy cheap lampshades. The result of the unblocked portion of the lamps was a glare every time the lamps were turned on. Also, it just looked silly with the tip of the bulb sticking out above the lampshade when the bulb was off. You're wondering what crappy lampshades don't even cover an ordinary lightbulb?! The ones you buy in a hurry for next to nothing, yes. Anyway, this is another review for another day. I then searched for "Low Profile Light Bulbs" without even knowing if they actually existed, and lo and behold my search led me here. They arrived, I screwed them in and luckily they were in perfect condition. I wish I knew beforehand that I had to order them before I burned out my sister and son-in-law's retinas with regular lightbulbs. I'm sorry people.
