I bought this lamp for my son so he can read in bed without turning on the main light. It had pretty good reviews and I figured for less than $10 it wouldn't matter much if he managed to destroy it or if it wasn't that great. As soon as she saw it in action my daughter decided she needed one too! (She has the same crimson light, not silver). This cute little light is attached to their headboards. They had no problem with him not staying. The flexible neck allows you to place the light where you want. As children, they constantly move in the light. Even after a few months, "neck" and clip are still in good condition. It's bright enough to read comfortably without eye strain, but not so bright as to disturb those around you. It has a simple on/off slide switch on top of the flashlight, which is powered by 3 AAA batteries.
