The smaller block doesn't have many bolt holes and is difficult to install and find the bolt.
The smaller unit doesn't have many screw holes drilled and is more difficult to install if you need to find a bolt. Also comes in shorter pieces, adding complexity. Also, you can't buy any extra hooks other than 2 cord holders, so I suggest buying a 12 piece block instead. Unfortunately, the hooks detach from the rail when you hold onto something. It's not that bad if you don't expect it to come off. You can do it all. I'm not sure. I liked the 12 piece block as it could hold a lot of gear. Floor cleaned in the barn!
