I am new to attachment attachments and I found the rubber band that came with my device very uncomfortable so I decided to try this band and it is really comfortable. I hardly notice he's there, so sleeping with him isn't a problem. It also looks great next to a black Fitbit, in a way it makes it less noticeable and more like just wearing a ponytail holder on my wrist. The band sits flat and conforms to the shape of my wrist. It's thick enough that I don't feel the metal clasp when my hand is on the chair, but not so thick that it's hot or anything. The material is hard to describe as I'm not a seamstress, but does it somehow remind me of those felt pads I drew with markers as a kid? They were very popular in the 70's. So it looks like felt, but not like the soft felt used in craft projects.
