Review on JAN JUL Arctic Boots: Stylish Shoes for Girls and Boys' Outdoor Adventures by Joe Fulce

Terrible smell and sticky residue on the outside

First of all if it's natural rubber (I honestly doubt it) then it has something really toxic printed on it. The smell from them upon opening (something like synthetic rubber but also something else) was overpowering and immediately gave me a severe headache (I don't have chemical sensitivities). I bought these because no one sells Timby anymore and I needed cheaper wellies for my daughter for school. I wanted something that was really non-toxic, durable and had handles. Unfortunately they don't fit. I've put them on our screened in porch to air out for well over a week. They still smelled bad, although not as bad. Worst of all, it was sticky and greasy on the outside. The design didn't come off, but it was like the boots were leaking some sort of grease. I tried wiping them down with both baby wipes and Cleanwell sanitizing wipes, but the sticky residue was still there. These shoes have good traction and are attractive and my daughter's feet, which are a size 8 in shoes like the Kai or Pediped and almost a size 9 in cheaper shoes, fit perfectly in them with little toe room. They don't stretch like other boots, which means they don't wear out as much. To be honest, these boots don't fit the bill in any way. I miss Timby.
