I used two of these antennas for a homemade MURS radio communication system between a racing car and a box. The antennas provided sufficient RF system gain to provide nearly seamless coverage of the entire 2.5 mile road. However, the magnet at the base of the antenna is nowhere near strong enough to attach it to the roof of a car. Using a small piece of Gorilla Tape, I glued seven 10 x 2mm neodymium magnets to the base of the antenna. The antenna is not rated for speeds in excess of 100 mph on top of a vehicle. For the price it's worth a few bucks more and a bit of effort to make the magnet base bigger.
