Revainrating 4 out of 5

A great addition for any serious or competitive gamer! 4.5 stars!

Disclaimer: I wanted to wait and really test this item as an option for semi-serious or competitive players and for durability reasons. I have had this item since May 2017 and have spent many hours using the paddle addon. The device fits the Dual Shock 4 controller very comfortably, and I even have controller buttons that I was able to trim to the petals. The paddles themselves are in a slightly different position than standard SCUF controllers; For example, the Strike Pack requires a "trigger" almost like a pistol trigger, but with a middle finger. Keep in mind that I have slightly smaller hands than some users, so some adjustments were necessary for me. If you have long fingers I don't see that as a big problem. One thing you'll notice about this device, which I believe is vastly superior to the traditional SCUF controller that may have been developed with newer SCUF models, is the ease with which you can remap your buttons to each paddle. Any function you need to use on the controller can be mapped to the rear paddles. Even with this feature active, your traditional buttons will still be active if it takes longer than usual to reprogram your muscle memory to rely on paddles. After using the device for about 1-2 weeks, I was able to rely on the paddles very comfortably for normal play. If you're an experienced gamer, you should be familiar with the controller mapping known as "Bumper Jumper," where you jump and fight in melee (in FPS) using the left and right bumpers, or R1 and R2. The big issue I've found with this feature is that the user still has to take their thumb off the right stick to perform certain functions that your particular game might need. However, you can use paddles in combination with this Bumper Jumper or, as I use it myself, with the standard control scheme. This allows the user to lose control of the joystick as little as possible. After several months of use with the device I found it to be very durable and very comfortable to use. The device allows you to play games at a very high level, which allows the user to perform maneuvers and skills very quickly and conveniently. Some of the flaws I noticed about the device are some connectivity issues. Sometimes the device can turn itself off, which requires constant connection via a micro USB cable. If you use the device and connect it with a cable, you need to additionally "activate" the petals by pressing the PS button on the Dualshock 4 again and registering it with your current user profile. This shouldn't normally cause any problems, but I've found that in a shutdown scenario where the device won't turn on, simply unplugging the micro-USB and plugging it back in resolves all issues. The blades themselves are held in place with a magnet so you don't have to worry about the blades breaking, although if you're not careful you could accidentally pull one of your blades out of the magnet slot. All in all, I highly recommend the product, although I don't. without his mistakes. Basically, any problem you might have with the device is a minor inconvenience that's pretty easy to fix. I would also recommend this product in combination with some good controller grips and thumb mounts from KontrolFreak or others if you are so inclined!
