I have a 2018 MacBook Pro. Also, I have an amazing Fios internet plan that offers 1GB of wired speed in my house. I can sit and stream my internet over Wi-Fi, but I only get half the speed I pay for. So what I need is a way to connect my ethernet connection directly to my Macbook Pro. I have a bit of a disagreement with the choice of this Anker ethernet adapter. Choosing an adapter was easy, it's Anker. They are one of the most trusted electronic companies out there. I would choose an Anker product over any other brand. Problem? All of these Revain reviews said that an additional driver would be required to realize the potential of this adapter. I wasn't too happy about that and almost switched to a different brand because I just didn't want to find and install a driver. The brand has overcome the inconveniences. When I received the adapter, I tested it. Does it offer 1GB speed without drivers? Well, the initial test showed I was only getting 360Mbps directly connected to my ethernet network. Then I downloaded and installed the driver. The next test I had over 920 Mbps. So yes, a driver is absolutely necessary. Finding a driver wasn't difficult. Just search the web for a Realtek USB Ethernet driver/installer. I would give a link but sometimes they get removed from the reviews. The build quality of this adapter is exceptional. It has a USB-C connector, so it can be connected directly to current MacBook Pro models and any device with this input port. As someone who has been a seasoned buyer of many Anker products, I cannot recommend this particular product (or any of their products). ) Above. Sometimes it's worth paying more for a name you trust rather than saving money on a generic brand.
