I buy water shoes all the time in search of the perfect pair. I think it could be! Previous shoes would let sand or mud into the boot (very uncomfortable!), or come off when I climbed out of the water and onto the surfboard. They wick water, but the insole is firm to keep the sand from slipping underfoot. They can be tightened so they don't loosen under pressure. They are very comfortable even to walk on the rocks. After reading the reviews I ordered a smaller size and they fit perfectly. One thing I should mention, the description says they dry quickly. You are not! Like every other pair of water shoes I've tried, they dry out in a reasonable amount of time if you put them in the sun. But if you bring them inside, they dry for several days.
