Perfect fit for my Miata

I needed to connect a phone to my 2005 Mazdaspeed Miata. I didn't want to use the suction cup mount for the windshield since the window was down. The phone and holder could be lost if you bravely drove topless. Since the cup holders have access to the switch, using the cup holder mount is not possible. I was fascinated by this design. The good thing is that it comes with multiple brackets that you can use to mount it under a screw, e.g. a saddle rail screw (which I did) or a bracket that allows you to screw it to a surface. The "flex" section is not a moving gooseneck, but a solid piece of aluminum rod with a flexible plastic cover. Once you move it to the position you want, this baby won't move! It looks like you could undo and trim one of the ends as well, although I didn't. It's plastic and cheap, made of flimsy materials, especially the grips that hold the phone. The base is well made, but it looks like the designers spent a whole week designing the mount and base, and then on Friday at 5pm designed the phone mount before 6pm were finished. Time will tell how well it will hold up with the Galaxy 20 Note support, but I think the phone's cradle could be greatly improved.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
