Review on ASICS GT 2000 Thunder French Men's Athletic Running Shoes by John Mahfood

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A bit small even with a large size, and the support for stability is very light.

This is my 3rd pair of running shoes and after a great experience with the Saucony Triumph and a bad experience with the Asics Novablast (too tight it will pronate a lot inwards) I decided to do my homework and the GT-2000 one try to give. What I wanted most was stability after feeling my ankles turning in while running. They're sturdier than the Novablast I've tried, so they help, but aren't very comfortable. That's easy. appropriate. After experiencing how bouncy and energetic my old Saucony Triumph shoes were (which, oddly enough, were the most comfortable for me even though they aren't stabilizing shoes), the GT-2000 seemed quite slow during run time. They don't really bounce much, although I run hard (250+ pounds) so I understand it might be me, but I definitely like the responsive feel when I get it. These shoes are ok, I think I'll wear them for a few hundred more miles but I don't think I'll run 300+ like Sauconys. I am already looking online for models of shoes that better suit my needs. Maybe Kayanos. Overall, these shoes seem better for someone lighter than me who doesn't penetrate as much, and someone who is already naturally light enough to not need a lot of bounce in their stride.
