ASICS GT 2000 Thunder French Men's Athletic Running Shoes Review

I've had several pairs of ASICS GT-2000's. The 10s, like the others, are very comfortable right from the start. The only problem I've ever had was the mesh fraying where the toe rubs. It's more of a closed fabric at the top, so time will tell. A small issue like this is worth it compared to the comfort of these shoes.

The lack of the more durable midsole material or stability elements of previous GT 2000 models is very evident. These shoes warmed up very quickly, in less than 2 months, giving almost no stability. Although they fit better in the toe area than the 9 version, Asics have gone to great lengths to make them soft and plush. This shoe needs a firmer midsole. Unfortunately, the current model doesn't offer the stability that all the advertising hype claims.

uses the previous version, from 2021 (GT-2000 9). Version 09 was 13.5, this is 13 (0.5 is gone) but the size seems to be the same. Nice model I think, there are some changes to the mesh - it looks a bit more durable compared to the 9th version (last year it only lasted 700 km which is too little for a $100 shoe). I am 6ft 3cm, 220lbs and am a former US Marine and have been running in high end ASICS running shoes for over 20 years. I currently own at least three pairs including pumps; However, this is the second pair of new ASICS where the foam is too spongy and the sole pathetically thin. I bought a 9.5 standard size. They were a bit long so I sent them back and got a size 9. They fit perfectly. They are supportive, responsive and stable. I gave 5 stars because they are much softer than the previous versions but still firmer, other than that I really like them. My last pair was Brooks Adrenaline 21.

So I'm going back and forth between New Balance and Asics, but these GT-2000's are amazing. This is the second time I've bought an Asics GT-2000 and I really like them. I stand on my feet most of the day and walk about 4-6 miles a day. They fit great and cushion the heel and ball of the foot. The size was true to size.

RS2 review here. I have to say that this shoe outperforms many more expensive brands when walking or running. I use these shoes for walking on hard surfaces with minimal running, but I would definitely use them for running if I didn't already have two running shoes. It's super soft and I use Asics a lot. I would definitely buy them again.

I used to have a GT 2000. I'm older and use them for the daily walk. The old couple was 2+ years old. I ordered these for comfort and the price was so good I ordered a second pair. Be sure to show different colors, each color pair has a different price.

I've been buying Asics GT series shoes for over a decade and this pair is just as good as the last. These shoes are light, comfortable and wear well. If you're an average runner looking for a reliable running shoe, then it's worth paying close attention to. Pro tip: If you are not picky about color and can live with last year's model, you will get very good discounts.

Asics works well for me (unlike Brooks, Nike, Reebok etc) and I've always had a pair of Gel Pursue 2s and finally needed a new pair. They're very comfortable, they look good and my first elliptical and weightlifting session went really well in them. If they don't fall apart, I'm very happy with this purchase.

I'm 6ft 2" and wear a size 13 with Nike. Asics I'm a size 14 and don't wear oversized sneakers/shoes. I recommend going up a size if you are from Nike.

I've always loved the GT 2000 line of shoes, but lately the quality control seems to have gotten worse. The shoes were comfortable but there were unforgivable tailoring issues that would have rendered the shoes unusable in weeks rather than months.

The Asics 2000 series is one of the most comfortable running shoes I've ever owned! These and the Kayanos are my favorite running shoes!

My husband literally wouldn't take them off, he said I would wear them at night. He thought they were the best Asics he had ever bought.

I have been buying GT2000 for many years. I always knew what kind of shoes I would buy. I switched to them after having plantar fasciitis because they were sturdy shoes with an additional plastic crossbar across the width (trusses). So disappointed they removed it. I don't think I would have bought them if I had known they were removed. I just hope they are just as strong and durable. Not sure why foam is as supportive and stable as a truss system?

Very good large or heavy men's shoes. I have wide feet, weigh 245 pounds and walk at least 6-7 miles five days a week. It makes me walk on clouds all the time. If I don't wear them, I actually get more tired. .excellent shoes.

My feet hurt when I stand too long or walk a lot. They really help and since I started running to lose weight they are perfect.

Arrived in a toe box with this deformation. I was hoping it would just go away with wear, or if I stuffed a newspaper or sock in a toe box. It has never done this before and becomes more pronounced and intrusive in the toe area, which rubs aggressively when walking or running. I emailed Asics with the receipt and pictures and was rejected because they weren't direct from Asics.
