This review is for a G11 with a small USB charging station. I mention this because some of the reviews appear to be for a different product. Upon receipt I charged the charge and just connected it to my phone. Typical one button user interface, instructions are short but simple. Pressing the button requires more force than desired, but less force can result in unwanted clicks when inserting or adjusting the device. I've been desperately trying to stop "redialing" with other headphones after accidentally pressing a button, which probably won't happen with this button. It seems like it should work the same in both ears, but in my case it works best in the right one. It may seem a bit aggressive at first if you're used to other styles that simply slip into your ear canal and stick out or hang out of your ear. By remaining in the canal behind the pinna and just below the ear canal, the device is held firmly in place. Using the right tip can provide a good seal that will block some outside noise and increase the G11's perceived performance. After 4 hours of use, I'm happy to report that my ear didn't hurt as much as others. My ear "knew" about it, but it didn't hurt as much as it does with one-ear bluetooth headsets. 3 out of 4 hours I listened to audio books, the rest of the time I just left them in my ears. I connected and switched between my iPhone and my Apple Watch, I connected my iPhone and my Apple Watch. The iPhone has a battery widget on the Today view screen that I used to monitor the battery. It seems to report battery in rough increments, it stayed at 100% for a couple of hours and then dropped back to 70%. It's not a terrible method, but I can't say what the next level will be just yet. Let's hope it's not 10%! The sound is so good when the device is pressed to your ear so tightly that you don't need to turn it on unless you're in a noisy environment. I never went above 50% volume and even that was too much in a quiet house. If you don't have the right tip or position, I suspect the volume will be much lower. My low volume probably explains the fantastic battery life. I was able to download audiobooks to my Apple Watch and listen to them without having to rely on my iPhone. Books load painfully slowly onto the watch and need to be charged as they are transferred. However, the convenience of not having to lug your phone around is worth it. Battery drain in the watch while listening to audio books was almost imperceptible. After 1/2 hour the clock finally went down 1 percentage point and my constant checking probably helped a lot! There are so many variants of this device and so many reviews that I'm embarrassed to admit how much time I've spent studying them. until I decided on the G11. So far I've only been impressed with it, but time will tell. Other reviewers had charging issues, which I foresee the tiny charging points getting dirty from the environment. uh, in a state of constant earwax production. In addition, there may be other contaminants that can easily interfere with electrical conduction but are invisible. Hairspray, dust, etc. I'll try to keep the contacts clean on both the G11 and the charger with a cotton swab or something. The battery is tiny and may have a limited lifespan. If so I'll disassemble it and see if I can solder a new one on. Will be updated when there are performance changes or operational issues.
