I have been a professional colorist and photo retoucher for a living for a long time. That's why it annoys me to no end when an LED lamp in particular casts an ugly green cast. It is great! Almost the same color as a 100w incandescent bulb and bright! And just over two bucks for a bulb, I don't know where you'll find this quality cheaper. They are also made the way LEDs should be. Cheap or poorly designed LEDs use a large resistor to cut off the AC supply to keep the LED from burning out. They heat up like any halogen bulb, use as much energy as one, and typically don't last long. These lamps are well designed. They can be left on for hours and barely feel warm. If you had to try and find a downside, it would be the sturdy lamp housing. That is, light is not reflected through the sides of the lamp, as is the case with halogens. So if you have a light whose appearance depends on this type of backlight, you will lose it.
