A good camera needs a firmware update to be great. Silent Sghutter issues (Read the bottom of the review)

I've been using the EOS R for about 10 days, I have over 3,000 images. I'm upgrading from 5d iv, I don't use it for videos. Here's what I like: - Excellent image quality - Silent shutter - Works with my 24-70 f2.8 II, 70-200 f2.8IS II and other lenses with no adapter issues - Single-point, single-frame autofocus works great. - Most of the time, face recognition works with eye recognition. - Ring on the adapter (sold separately), I set it up for Aperture, I really like it, although the ring is a bit close to the camera. - FV mode is probably my new favorite feature. - Excellent battery life, I don't know how they measure battery life for the specs but I take an average of 900 photos per charge. - Multifunction panel, I programmed it to ISO, left side ISO 100, right side ISO 3600, it works. Things that need improvement: - Face autofocus, it works great 90% of the time, but sometimes it just decides the hands or the chair are the face. - Touch et ag autofocus can be more sensitive, meaning when I touch the screen while looking through the viewfinder to change the focus point, I sometimes have to swipe a few times to get to the right point. I tested different options like displaying the screen in 1/4, in 1/2, absolute and relative. It works, but not as well as it could! - Silent shooter. - More customization options for buttons. For example, I not only want to program the back button to focus with the back button, but also set the type of autofocus (single/servo, single point or different areas etc.). In summary, I am very satisfied with EOS. R and know that if Canon releases a firmware update I will be very happy with the camera! To update! After a few months of use, I've found that the silent shutter works in certain circumstances, but if you're using the camera to take pictures at events with LED lights, or indoors with LED lights, be aware that you stripes become terrible, mostly useless.

Pros
  • Not only useful for its intended purpose
Cons
  • A bit torn
