Better than expected

There are many reviews. But here is a list I made that I found after I bought this. Things I wasn't aware of before buying the R.1. No lens or camera micro adjustments! So much time saved! 2. With eye detection my guards are almost 100%. This tiny difference without a mirror makes my life so much happier.3. I don't miss 6-7 fps with a servo. I pulled the trigger, sprayed and prayed for the birds in flight. I managed to save a lot of footage and became much more comfortable with my DSLR. I was…

I've been using the EOS R for about 10 days, I have over 3,000 images. I'm upgrading from 5d iv, I don't use it for videos. Here's what I like: - Excellent image quality - Silent shutter - Works with my 24-70 f2.8 II, 70-200 f2.8IS II and other lenses with no adapter issues - Single-point, single-frame autofocus works great. - Most of the time, face recognition works with eye recognition. - Ring on the adapter (sold separately), I set it up for Aperture, I really like it, although the ring is a

I like my EOS R the most out of digital cameras

This is a great debut for Canon's full frame mirrorless cameras. DSLRs can still do things that mirrorless cameras can't, but mirrorless cameras can do a lot of things that DSLRs can't. Here are my thoughts on the R after almost 3 months of use and extended use of the 5D Mark II and 7D Mark II: What I like (not in any particular order): * Feels good in the hand - it didn't feel much smaller at first, but after taking my 7D Mark II to the gym a few weekends ago, the 7D feels much more solid in…

Great photos, great customizable UI, great benefits of mirrorless

I love this camera! I've used a Canon 70D, 6D, 6D Mark II and 5D Mark IV before so I've put together some amazing Canon glasses. I think the learning curve is a bit steep when Canon's workflow is ingrained in your brain because the interface is so different. The menu system is very similar to my 6D2 and 6D. However, the external buttons and design are so different that I couldn't use my muscle memory in the quick moments of the photo shoot. However, I'm getting used to it now after using it for

A game changer - with some downsides and added benefits.

It took me some time to get used to the redesigned controls and the all new mirrorless system. I come from a 6D perspective. Looking through the viewfinder is unusual at first. You won't get such a crystal clear optical picture of ambient light. Instead you get this virtual reality view interpreted through a tiny magnified screen where you can see the subtle flickering of electrons on the screen. I can't say it's my favorite item. I like the optical look more, but that's just a flaw with ALL…
