I like my EOS R the most out of digital cameras

This is a great debut for Canon's full frame mirrorless cameras. DSLRs can still do things that mirrorless cameras can't, but mirrorless cameras can do a lot of things that DSLRs can't. Here are my thoughts on the R after almost 3 months of use and extended use of the 5D Mark II and 7D Mark II: What I like (not in any particular order): * Feels good in the hand - it didn't feel much smaller at first, but after taking my 7D Mark II to the gym a few weekends ago, the 7D feels much more solid in my hand than before. Despite being smaller than my 5D/7D, it looks well balanced even with heavy lenses.* Familiar tactile feel - buttons (except M-Fn pad) and menus were immediately clear to me. So much so, I didn't even need to open the manual.* Eye AF and AF accuracy - wow! All my lenses including my old Sigma 50 EX (Pre-Art series) are much more accurate. I don't have to fire that many shots to hit the goalkeepers. Shooting with f/1.4 with confidence is another matter.* Control Ring Adapter - If you're buying an adapter, I recommend using the control ring instead of the main ring so you get the same control whether you're using RF or legacy EF lenses -Lenses. * Live Histogram - Not only can you view exposure in the viewfinder, you can also see a live histogram. No more checking the exposure afterwards. What I don't like (not in any particular order): * The fact that I can't pick up the camera and look into the lens without turning it on. I really like that about DSLRs, especially a big telephoto lens where you can use your camera like a telescope without draining the battery. on the lower end of the EOS RP, so I think it should come to R via a firmware update. Things I don't care about: * Trimming 4K video - I don't even use 1080P video so I don't care about 4K * A card slot - I switched from Rebel XT to 40D in 2006 and then 5D Mark II for 8 years only with one slot. Although the 7D Mark II has two slots, I only used one.* Burst Speed - The 5D Mark II R is faster and more accurate. Even though my 7D Mark II runs at 10 fps, I very rarely run that fast, even when doing sports, because I don't want to discard so many frames. Overall I'm very happy with the R. It's the best camera I've ever had. I think a lot of people were too concerned with what it isn't instead of appreciating what it is. With outdated Canon glass and a shorter learning curve this was a pretty easy decision for me, especially as I needed to upgrade my almost 9 year old 5D Mark II. If you've got a newer DSLR, it might make sense to wait a bit and see what else is on the horizon from Canon. Now that all the big players join the mirrorless FF game, the competition will bring the best cameras for all of us.
