I recently bought a new car (Subaru Crosstrek) which I like a lot but the seat was very uncomfortable for me and was causing pain in the lower back and hips. The back shield completely eliminated my discomfort and fits the seat almost like it was designed specifically for the Crosstrek. It doesn't add thickness (unlike memory foam supports) and I only had to move the seat back one notch to accommodate it. I leave it in the car and it's barely noticeable (visually) but offers significantly improved back support and driving comfort.
