Okay, let's face it, you can buy a speaker stand from Guitar Center and it comes with a little "sleeve" adapter. It's pretty much the same EXCEPT if you buy a speaker stand it's probably more expensive AND you have to figure out how to drill a hole in the grommet, you have to figure out how to attach the grommet to the stand. so it doesn't twist or turn when you rotate the arrow. You're going to spend an hour at Lowes, drill a hole for an hour, and then forget you need to buy some washers, a lock nut, and a knurled nut. So it takes you another hour to get back to Lowes. I hope you remember a little lube this time to make everything spin smoothly. So just buy it. It's a good product and people are a pleasure to work with. The stand itself is very stable and it took me 3 minutes after opening the box to set my jib up on the stand and play with it. I took it to a wedding the next day and it worked great even on soft dirt/grass and even rough terrain.
