I can't speak about the effectiveness of this product, we have given it to cats after having one of them hospitalized the second time for urinary tract blockage. The vet told us there was little chance of the disease coming back so I can't say for sure how much it would help, but as a precaution they suggested it anyway. What I CAN say is that both of our cats love the taste and are happier with food than without! As a preventive medicine, it is easy to administer and we have not had any stones or problems since administration. I can't guarantee D-Mannose is the culprit, but a jar lasts a very long time and for the price, the reassurance is well worth the money. I am very happy with the purchase
