I was so delighted with the two external pockets at the ends of this bag, they are big enough not only for a regular water bottle but also for a large reusable bottle. bottle too! Unfortunately, when you really fill these pockets, you can no longer close the purse, as this distorts the whole thing. And the outer zippers on the sides are for decoration only, they are not compartments. Big Miss! The bag itself is nice and big. There's enough space inside to carry a water bottle (and still cap it). I love the no-zip interior which makes it easy to grab frequently used items like keys, lip balm, mints, etc. And there are zipped interiors for things that need more security. The leather feels nice and the little fringes are a nice touch. The floor is a hard rectangle with metal ribs to keep dirt out when sitting on the floor, a bonus. But the hard ground makes it sit on my hip when I'm wearing it; I prefer a padded bottom that works better with a shoulder bag.
