Review on ๐Ÿ“ธ Canon EOS M6 Black Camera with 18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM Lens Kit by Chad Fox

Big camera features in a small body.

In my previous life I used professional cameras (Nikon F2, Mamiya RB67, Graflex 4X5 etc.). In Canon's mirrorless range, I've used the M2, M10 and M100. My favorite feature is the location of the under/over exposure controls. I sometimes find myself in strong backlit situations when photographing available light. By dialing in +/- Exposure, I can see on the touchscreen how much I'm compensating for and what my result will be. Also, I can go back to zero compensation without taking my eyes off the screen. For flash photography, I mount a Canon 430EXIII-RT flash on the accessory shoe and can shoot TTL. Again, I never had any issues once I set the camera to use this flash. The only downside is the 18-150 lens mount. The lens mount is made of plastic. I have Canon 22mm, 11-22mm and 18-55mm lenses. The 18-150 is the only lens without a metal frame. Upon my return from Japan, I had an 18-150 lens mounted on the M6 in my holster. My guess is that the plane's vibrations clipped the fins from the back of the lens somewhere along the way. Luckily Canon's repair and warranty policies are generous and I had a lens replaced while it was still under warranty. It shouldn't be, but I would advise against traveling with an 18-150 mounted to your camera body if at all possible.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Makes me nervous

works well! The mic almost is too big for the camera but it sounds great!
