I recommend getting a ruler to make sure you get an idea of what a 10mm diameter would look like. For the average adult, these are haggis, meaning they should touch the bottom of the earlobe when worn, with no gap between the inside of the hoop and the earlobe. If this is the style you want, 10mm is usually the best estimate for the distance between the piercing and the earlobe. The grommets are quite flimsy so at first glance they appear fragile or you will be warned that the clasp is unreliable. However, once you put them on you will find that they are quite secure. Overall it was exactly what I wanted/expected and I'm very happy with it. I've been wearing them non-stop for weeks with no issues with the clasp etc. Very comfortable. In the photos they are shown (far right) with a pair of 8mm and a pair of 6mm rings on a metric ruler and 8mm rings in the second hole.
