DECENT replacement for the old Brooks Runderwear

There is another company that is now using the "Runderwear" (or similar) brand but Brooks made a Runderwear product for roughly 20 years and discontinued them sometime in the mid-to-late 2010s. They were briefs and boxer briefs. I contacted Brooks when I could no longer find them online or in stores and the representative told me they quit selling them. Bummer because they were, by far, the best athletic "underwear" I've ever worn. And I've worn everything from the old jock-strap (even writing the word is painful) to coolmax briefs that came out in the '90s. Brooks hit it out of the park with their product, but it seems I'm only one of a few that thought so.I have been looking for a replacement for the Brooks for a while. These came up in a search and I decided to try them. When I received them, I had mixed emotions. They definitely felt like the fabric they claimed to be made up of, and they had a good ability to stretch, but they weren't quite as silky smooth as the Brooks. Oh, well. They were fairly inexpensive and I needed them, so I washed and started wearing them. First wearing for a short time (an hour or so), then longer, finally, most of the day a couple of weeks ago. I don't like them as much as I do the Brooks, but I have to say I'm reasonably satisfied. I do not think they wick away moisture as well as the Brooks or other briefs and while they don't seem to saturate, they do hold in a little moisture. However, they are WAY better than cotton and more comfortable than other products I've tried. So if you are looking for a Brooks replacement, so far, these come as close as I've found.

Pros
  • Soft, breathable, comfortable. And they look nice to boot. What more can you ask for?
Cons
  • Modal fabric may not be as easy to care for
