Review on 🚿 Moen DN7110 Folding Teak Wood Aluminum Wall Mounted Shower Seat with Chrome Finish - Home Care by Chip Palmer

Revainrating 2 out of 5

It's been two years and we regret this purchase. Know what you're getting yourself into!

We bought this teak bench two years ago when we were renovating our master bathroom and I regret the purchase. The underside of the bench is filmed white/stained from the shower (our shower is 3ft x 4ft) and not easy to clean. We have to take the bench off the wall at least once a year to keep the teak intact and teak oil stinks for days. I have asthma so it's not good. The smell also causes headaches. And it hurts because we're literally tearing it apart. I am concerned that we will remove the wood behind the tiles so we don't have to remove it for cleaning and painting. I can't get out of the shower and we suspect it's due to moisture buildup behind my back. There is a gap behind and between the slats and I always wash off the shaving cream when I shave my legs so water gets underneath. cover both sets of holes in the tile and it would be expensive if not impossible to remove those two tiles and replace them. It's wider than most benches, so we're going to be pouring holes in the marble pattern tiles. NOT the look I would be happy with. I highly recommend buying a folding bench that requires no maintenance, doesn't leave mold behind and is cheaper. Two years ago there weren't as many opportunities as I see them today. I will still call the tiler to get his advice on replacing this one. It's not worth the trouble. It is strong but only looks good for a short time before a film forms.
