I bought this cable adapter to play songs from my I-Phone through my old 1990's RadioShack SW-100 multi-band portable radio. The only receiving port on the SW-100 was the microphone jack, so this cable was the perfect crossover between the two technologies, and now I can play my modern playlist through the old, warm, sizzling sound of my retro radio! Instead, I could use a Bluetooth adapter plugged into the microphone jack, but I didn't want to have to charge it regularly. The cable is a simple direct connection with no problems. Not sure about durability yet, but the cable seems strong yet flexible. The extra long length is good as I can still use the phone within a few feet of the radio.
