After trying all ear tips, including the memory foam and triple layer, they have virtually no sound blocking. The job of monitors is to block out noise. If I can smack the snare in my ear as deep as possible (I've tried several depths) and wince in pain, then the headphones aren't doing what they were designed to do. Bought these and Shure monitors. Shure doesn't have high-quality sound, but they work like monitors because they actually block out ambient noise. Protect your hearing so you can enjoy music forever. Also, these were uncomfortable headphones. The sound quality in particular was reasonable and met my expectations for the price. Nice packaging again, but I don't care. They should cost $30-40.
