Holy Moly! I didn't know what to expect. Interestingly, all my co-workers and friends think of me as a cleanliness freak, where everything is very neat and tidy. In the meantime, my clothes are often a complete wreck with marks and stains that I can no longer get out. I've thrown out a lot of clothes because of a stain: makeup, stone stain, peanut butter, ketchup, or someone spilled cranberries and vodka/red wine on me (on the day I wore white pants). I've also heard about the laundress for many years but I thought why should I pay 2-3 times what I pay in retail to have my clothes cleaned? Well, now I'm a true believer! The Laundress - Laundry & Dye Soap, Vegetable Soap, Borax & Essential Oils, Allergen Free, 2 oz I was blown away! At first I had no idea how to use this thing. And of course I thought $10 wasted. But then I remembered seeing a small boar bristle brush offered as an optional purchase and a technique my cousin showed me. So I grabbed an old kid's toothbrush and started with a white collared shirt that I didn't realize had collar and makeup stains! (double whammy!) So I wet the shirt and stain. I rubbed the strip into the stain, wet my toothbrush, and began scrubbing the stain in concentric circles. I had to work on it, but in the end I could barely see where the stains were! Then I put the shirt in the washing machine with bleach. Like new! There is almost no trace of a stain on the collar that was ever present. I then used this on a pair of light wash denim shorts that my son got dirty. Someone had washed them before I could use anti-stain magic. So you still had dirt stains! Grrrrโฆ But then I tried the toothbrush strip again. When it looked like most of the stain had come out, I washed the shorts again. Almost no stains! I've used it on spaghetti stains, oil stains, etc. It's out! The only downside is that it looks like fancy Castile soap from a certain colonial historical site I visit every summer in Virginia near Wm & Mary. So I don't know exactly how to store it so that nobody uses it as hand soap or puts it somewhere near water only to fall apart. I also can't wait to use a boar bristle brush instead of that old toothbrush! Then I will definitely try other Laundress products. i am a convert You need that expensive stain stick because it really removes stains!
