While I wish these mounts were made out of a thicker material that doesn't flex as much when adjusting the angle of the monitor, it will never be as good as if Monitors would have VESA mounts. That being said, these mounts work well for my Dell SE2717HR monitors. They don't seem to snap into place like the stands that came with the monitor, so I'm not sure I would trust them to set up portrait mode. Also, since the mount has a kink, I can take a nylon nut and slide the end of the screw that secures through the VESA mount to the support bracket I'm using to avoid scratching or damaging the monitor itself. fits, you could probably take the upper arms of some other VESA mount adapters and work your way down to the screws to apply a downward force on the tabs that go into the monitor. I'm not sure how tight the fit can be, so personally I'll just make sure my next few monitors have VESA mounts.
