rescued a dead Seagate backup
Let's just say I was very surprised when my Seagate backup suddenly failed. ran the usual diagnostics and tried all the troubleshooting suggestions to no avail. I thought "Seagate has always made reliable drives, I bet it's not a drive" so I took it apart and noticed that the extra USB adapter looked cheap so I ordered this cable using the one Seagate supplied bypassed. and voila, it's back in action. Good guess!
