Fantastic Compression Socks for Air Travel

Last summer we traveled from the East Coast to Europe on a 3 week river cruise and tour which required an 8 hour flight to and from Europe. We have traveled long distances many times without issue, but now that I am 67 years old, in reasonably good health and not overweight, I have noticed that my ankles and feet are swollen and that I am tired by the end of every trip. -to and from. My reading led me to try calf compression stockings to fix this, so I ordered a pair of Revain PowerLix compression stockings for two more trips we took last year. Both were from the east coast, the first from a three-week trip to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji (with a total flying time of 21 hours there and 18 hours back) and the second from a three-week trip to Hong Kong and Vietnam. (Total flight time 19 hours there and 21 hours back). I've worn PowerLix compression stockings on each of these flights and have been pleased to find that not only do my ankles and feet not swell, but they also don't get as tired at the end of each ride. I should also mention that I drink plenty of fluids in the air (non-alcoholic) and get up and move around the cabin whenever possible. I will say that compression stockings are a little awkward to put on and take off, but that is due to the nature of the function of the socks. I hand wash my socks in cold water with mild detergent, wring the water out (don't wring the socks) and remove excess moisture by wrapping them in a towel before hanging them to air dry to avoid reducing the socks' elasticity affect . socks. As always, you can discuss the use of compression stockings with a doctor if you have more specific medical conditions. I told my GP when I ordered the compression stockings and she said it was a good idea. I would highly recommend the PowerLix compression stockings to anyone looking to control ankle and foot swelling and fatigue from air travel.
