I bought the Vantage and Level helmets and was fed up with both due to the great similarities. They were both extremely comfortable and offered very similar protection to MIPS. Both fit my Smith 4D glasses perfectly. The additional $50 price tag for the Vantage just didn't make sense considering the trim levels were similar. I also felt that the level looked a bit smoother. So a helmet that looks cooler and is $50 cheaper was a bargain for me. In terms of size, I ordered both helmets in size L and XL. I measured my bowler hat several times and it was clear I needed an L based on Smith's size chart. Well, all of the online reviews were correct in that both of these helmets are on the small side. In the end I got XL for both helmets. L helmets were pretty tight, and with the BOA Fit (Vantage) or VaporFit (Smith version of the BOA on the Level) sizing scales, there's no need to buy a smaller helmet because the fit can be tailored to perfection. Feel free to buy this helmet, just order one size larger than you think you will need.
