Review on πŸš— AUTO METER 2300 Autogage 3.750-inch Tachometer by Matt White

Works great, exactly.

I wanted to get a whiff, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money. After reading the reviews of the cheaper ones ($20-$30) and hearing that they don't read closely or are slow/lagged, I figured I'd spend a little more and buy a good brand name like this. This thing works great, reads in real time, as far as I can tell from a 1991 S10 it's accurate. One oddity I wasn't expecting is that the needle doesn't always return to 0 when you turn the car off. It usually sticks to the last reading. This means if you park the car and quickly turn the key to the stop, the speedometer needle will stay at 900 rpm. However, if you slowly turn the car off by turning the key from the ON position to the ACC position and then Turn to the OFF position, the needle will drop back to 0. So I think this is probably due to a sudden loss of power preventing the e-motor from sending the speedometer to 0 until the ignition is switched off quickly.
