I've walked about 9 miles in these shoes and I really like how they fit snugly on my feet (not choke) while my traditional hiking boots have to be re-tied at some point during the walk. I'm a tall man at 285lbs so I was concerned about the support of the shoes and to be honest I wasn't planning on running long distances in them. So far I haven't had any issues with my ankles, knees or lower back and the few minutes I've spent on my flat pedal mountain bike has convinced me to try them on my next ride. The sole of the shoe is thin enough to wear socks but thick enough to walk on gravel without feeling the rocks. The shoes look better than regular water shoes and are great for making quick progress (which was my intended purpose). I ordered a second pair as they have become my go-to hiking shoes.
