Difficult to use but satisfying end result

I wanted to restore a giant ottoman that I love and had no idea how to make buttons for a tufted bodice until I came across this set . . This was my first time covering buttons so maybe it was because I didn't really know what I was doing despite the fairly simple instructions and I found it quite difficult to do. Circle of fabric to use when you close the included metal button and let me tell you no room for error here. If I hadn't laid the fabric flat on the clear rubber mount and carefully tucked the button into the rubber mount, being careful so the sides of the button had an equal amount of fabric, when i folded over the excess and tried to put the back on, i had a short somewhere and i had to unbutton the button and start over until there was the same fabric around. It was SO hard work. The blue thing in the kit that's supposed to push the back was absolutely useless. I ended up having to press down on the back with a screwdriver around the edges before the back fitted snugly into the front of the button and stayed in place. The backs of the buttons were dented, but when that was finally done the front actually looked pretty good. Overall I found the assembly a bit difficult despite the clear instructions but in the end I was glad I bought it, as my restored ottoman now looks amazing - and the buttons definitely add a level of presence; my family was amazed that I actually did everything myself; You would not know it was restored by me - very unprofessional! I would recommend this to others - as long as you don't give up after a little disappointment!
