NOT FOR UPHOLSTERY

Before deciding on a particular product I consider all the good and bad reviews and the price of the product. Thing. I took a chance buying these buttons as I feel the price outweighed the negative reviews. If you use them on very light fabrics they might work for you. I trusted the reviews that said they used them on upholstery fabrics. The included "tool" didn't do anything other than flex the bottom half unevenly when I tried to attach it to the top. It took a pair of pliers, but it turned out well!

It's ok and I've been able to use it successfully for my headboard project. However, I made some modifications. As other reviewers have pointed out, using the little blue button to manually connect the two pieces is inefficient and the buttons don't stay together. So I covered the button with fabric, placed it in the button maker, applied a dab of glue to the back, pressed the back of the button against the back, covered it with the other part of the button maker, and then pressed the buttons…

Difficult to use but satisfying end result

I wanted to restore a giant ottoman that I love and had no idea how to make buttons for a tufted bodice until I came across this set . . This was my first time covering buttons so maybe it was because I didn't really know what I was doing despite the fairly simple instructions and I found it quite difficult to do.
