My 2.5-year-old son loves the airy peep-toe shoes. He often chooses these sandals, but every time he wears them, he keeps tripping over them, even when walking at a normal pace. The shoes look and feel great on him, but I've forbidden him from wearing them because of the serious tripping hazard on the concrete sidewalks and city streets. He kept stumbling forward, posing the risk of hitting his head/face on the ground if he didn't prepare. I believe the reason for this is the sole of the shoe which is extremely slip resistant but the edge always tends to snag and hold onto the pavement causing it to snag on my son's feet. I bought him two different sizes when he was 1.5 and now 2.5 and I realized that it wasn't because of his inexperience at walking (at 2.5 now he's already an experienced runner) but because of shoes.
