I was very excited to try this product because I'm pro-sustainability. I chose lavender. My clothes smelled even worse when they were put whole in the washing machine and I had nothing but that to try to clean them. Odors from socks and sportswear quickly seeped into less smelly clothes. I had to go out and buy good old Arm and Hammer detergent with hydroxy in it to get the smells out and wash everything again. I experimented and threw all the products into a stack of leaves. The smell of lavender passed, giving a good result. But if you try to use it instead of a traditional cleaning product, be careful!
