I bought this Mediify MA-40 2.0 H13 True HEPA Medical Air Purifier during the 2020 Corona Virus Pandemic. We have 2 large dogs, a child who left college early due to the pandemic and my wife works as a nurse at the local hospital. But not only these objects have driven me in this direction. I change my oven filter regularly. On the first floor of the house there is carpet in only one room. The second floor is mostly carpeted, with the exception of the master bedroom where the carpet extends slightly beyond the bed. It was when I was standing in the hallway one morning and our son's bedroom door was open, as were the curtains. The sun was shining. Looking out that window in the sunlight, I was amazed to see all the particles/dust/or whatever. It just meant no healthy air in my house as far as I could tell. I can tell you that at that moment, whether it was the coronavirus pandemic or not, I didn't like what I was seeing at all and I wanted to do something about it. I kept thinking that this winter cough doesn't seem to go away from the beginning to the end of the heating season every winter. So I started searching online. I saw different brands and models on the internet. There were cheaper and more expensive models. For myself, I decided that I wanted to try this. So I can't tell you if this model is right, above or below, but I can tell you this. I started it first and left it running on the first floor after opening the package when I got home from work. After a few hours I felt like I could tell the difference. I asked my wife what she thought of it. She doubted it a little, but felt otherwise. When we went to bed that night, I took him upstairs and led him down the hall (leaving all the bedroom doors open). The next morning I left it upstairs in the hall when I went to work. When I got home and went up the stairs, there was a certain spot where the air quality was so noticeably different. I asked my wife again if she noticed a difference. This time there was no hesitation. She agreed that the air quality is definitely better upstairs.. Well, you might think this guy is going to order a second one, so he has one on both floors. I wish I could, but I will save money, I might even try one of the cheaper ($99) models I've just seen See if it's worth spending that extra money.. having an ionizer in the system and running at the same time.. so whisper mode, I can't say because I don't use it. I see it's still a bit noisy for some people.mo My wife remarked that I woke up the first night thinking the sound was from rushing water. Recommendation: At the moment I can say that it has really made a difference, I feel a difference in my breathing, I already cough less and I am not affected in any way, so I have no reason not to recommend it. If I end up buying a cheaper device and it works, I'll try to update it. Servicing - The cost of replacing a filter seems pretty high (I think I've seen $69 for a filter). It will be interesting to see how often I find it needs replacing. If a cheaper model doesn't work as well, I bite the bullet and change the filters.
