Review on SUV Remo Hobby Smax RM1631, 1:16, 28.5 cm, blue/black by Janis Cerins ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice price, good quality.

The machine can drive through puddles, snow, but the bearings in the hubs wedge and the axles begin to scroll in them, grinding and whistling. Serva does not pull, it does not return the wheels to the center well, and the motor wedges in it. take it apart, move the rotor with tweezers, enough for a while, then again. The battery lasts for 15-20 minutes to ride, but the machine briskly drives for 7-10 minutes. Asphalt shock absorbers will do, but on the ground the machine jumps and loses direction. Original shock absorbers with oil will cost from 1200-1500 for 4 pcs. Bearings had to be disassembled and filled with grease. TOTAL: buy a battery (you can assemble 4 cans of 18650 20s yourself for 600 for 3000 mAh), replace the servo (300-1000), lubricate the bearings (I also lubricated the differentials). And most importantly, the pleasure received from it pays off. Despite the shortcomings, it is worth taking.

Pros
  • Cheerful toy. Price (I took delivery for 3500 + 200, ordered from Hong Kong to Hong Kong). Strong enough. The radio control works well, the car can already be lost from sight, but the communication is still working. There is enough motor power, it makes no sense to put a BC, controllability will disappear.
Cons
  • Moisture protection is conditional, the servo is weak and unreliable, the battery is 2S and only 1500 mAh, the differentials are wedged, the shock absorbers are without a damper, there is no lubrication in the bearings, the cost of the parts is such that if you assemble it completely in parts, you will probably get about 8 thousand. Well, the charger is loud and disgustingly whistling.
