Review on 🔌 Dorman 917-420 Engine Oil Filler Tube: A Reliable Black Solution for Select Models by Jeremy Carpenter

The Dorman filler tube has a bonded fuel cap retaining tab on the inside of the filler neck. This securing tab fits the OEM filler cap and will secure the cap to the filler neck when you screw the oil filler cap back on. However, when I installed the factory oil filler cap into the filler neck, the small retaining tab broke off the attachment point on the inside of the filler neck. Consequently, the oil cap now has nothing to hold it in place. Dorman needs to look at the quality control of the adhesive/plastic weld used during manufacture to attach this small retaining tab to the inside of the filler neck. Otherwise, the filler neck looks visually comparable to an OEM oil filler neck.
