I have never used PEX before. The tool crimps and cuts flawlessly. Tool and milling cutter are well made. Worked very well. I finished my little job with about 10 connections. Crimping without your arms outstretched works very well, but if you have to reach into a joint within the wall you can lose natural leverage. For two crimps I was very fortunate to be able to place one handle on the stud and use both hands to push down on the other handle as hard as I could to compress the crimp. Also remember that the tool needs a certain amount of space and the right angle of attack to perform the crimp. I don't think this is a bug in the tool, just a fact of physics for your understanding. I've looked at ratchet tools that can make crimping easier, but the reviews I've seen have been low or the price has been many times the price.
