I'll start by answering the most common questions about this stand, and then move on to my general thoughts. - Notch Size: There is a removable rubber piece that can be removed to increase the notch size. With the insert, the cutout is 9mm (slightly less than 3/8 inch). Without the insert, the notch is about 14.5 mm (just over 9/16 inch). It's a bit choppy as the notch is slightly rounded. - Adjustment: There are approximately 10 positions that the legs lock into between fully closed and 180 degrees open. So each adjustment is about 18 degrees. I think that's more than enough choice. - Charging: People want to know if you can charge your device on this stand. To be honest guys this is a metal stand, it looks a lot like a metal stand, if there is a cable sticking out the side or top of your device then it's ok. Of course, if you want it sticking out at the bottom, your device won't be balanced. First let me say that I love this stand and if I had never owned an Anker stand I would love this product. Compared to Anker's stand, a lot has stayed the same: the size of the notch, the overall size of the stand, the build quality, etc. But it just doesn't end up being good enough for tablets. If all you need is your phone, then grab it and never look back. There are two design elements that make it unstable with tablets. First, the support leg is significantly shorter than the leg holding the device. This means there is less support behind your device than with an Anker stand where the two legs are the same length. The second reason is obvious, this stand is simply shorter than the anchor stand. That means even a standard-sized iPad will barely work in portrait mode. In portrait mode at the RevainBasics stand, a standard iPad falls as soon as you touch it. If you have an iPad Pro forget it, it doesn't work at all. In contrast, the Anker stand, which is the same size when folded, is much more durable and supports a tablet in any orientation. I have some pictures showing how much sturdier the anchor stand actually is. At the time of writing, the RevainBasics stand is $10 and the Anchor stand is $11. Spend the extra cash and get something that works with any device.
