Review on UGEARS Wooden Mechanical Construction Learning Kit by Brian Mendoza

So this is a great project for learning how to build and understanding mechanisms and levers. however, it is poorly designed. The main shaft is too small and flexible, the engine is poorly designed. it is weak, and before you stretch it, it begins to deform. Even with real lube and not wax it wouldn't turn even with the motor cocked to the point of breaking. Thus, there is a tremendous design flaw in the bottom washer tension knobs and other knobs of the same design. The locking lever is square at the base, not along the radius. most did not break when installing the handle, but as soon as the handle was rotated. there are other errors. Well, as I said, I bought it for my niece to study mechanics and mechanisms. Now we're going to take it apart and recreate the parts with a 3D printer using real bearings and some RC airplane/helicopter parts and see if we can get it working.
