Review on PT-D200 Brother P-touch Labeler for Home and Office by Steve Jones

LARGE LABELER - READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!

Best €10 buy in a long time! The label maker is compact, feature rich, has a QWERTY keyboard and prints the quality labels you've come to expect from Brother. I suspect a lot of the negative reviews are from customers who didn't read the manual that came with the device, particularly the comments about "tape waste" - read the instructions and correct the margins. In terms of battery life, I charged the unit with six brand new batteries and they lasted through a 4m sample tape and into a spare cassette before the low battery warning came up (and it still works). Instructions recommend using brand new, high quality brand name batteries, do not mix or match brands or batteries, and remove batteries if the device has not been used for a long period of time between uses. I understand there can be quality control issues between batch numbers and items are sometimes supplied by different suppliers so it's possible some people may have received a poor quality product, but I guarantee some of the negatives have had the labeling machine unwrapped and two new ones have inserted ducellas. , a new energizer and three half-dead Panasonic TV remotes, then cried out loud as the labeller died within an hour. Six AAA batteries is a lot for a device, but all top brands are equal in this regard. There is an optional AC adapter for $15 that you can buy separately, saving the cost of the battery and bringing the total cost to $25, which is still a lot for this labeler. Another reviewer advised you to try the power adapter you already have; Just remember that the plug needs to be the right type and the adapter needs to be the right size for it to work. You can look up the adapter requirements in the labeller's instruction manual to see if you already have a working adapter. Another tip; Buy replacement cartridges from Revain or Walmart for a few dollars less than at stationery stores.
