Ah, the engine noise problem is correct. I've had the ZR300 for a few years now and am very happy with it. I was hoping that the ZR800's engine noise would be at the same level, but unfortunately it's significantly worse. I find that makes the device unacceptable unless you intend to always use it with a microphone. If you're looking for a cheap camera to play with entry-level mics (which is what I wanted with this camera), this is a good option, but note that you can't control audio through external headphones while recording, and it doesn't have shoes for accessories . This unit also makes a whirring noise when the windscreen is activated/deactivated (this disappears when the windscreen function is deactivated). The picture is much better than the ZR300.
