Not even worth the $100 I paid for it. Here I said it. Oh, I've been trying to justify myself. "It's only $100, it's not that bad," I said to myself. But after spending hours trying to get something done with the 100E, I have to admit: it's just a bad Chromebook and a waste of Benjamin. Let me upfront by saying that I've probably owned 8 or 9 different Chromebooks of different sizes and price points in my life. This includes 4 different 11" monitors that I've used for different purposes. I compare my experience with Lenovo to other 11" Chromebooks. Apples to apples and so on. It's so tempting, isn't it? For a hundred bucks you get a full Chromebook, and it even comes with 4GB of storage, which is the bare minimum even for a Chromebook. Should be at least "good enough" right? Time. Everything is washed out. Blacks are barely gray. The text is slightly blurry. You can force a resolution change in Chrome itself, but no matter what, the screen quality is terrible. Despite the aforementioned reasonable 4GB of memory and a theoretically acceptable processor (MediaTek MT8173C), this is a very sluggish machine.. Even basic Browsing the web seems slow like trying to open simple web pages Wi-Fi radio also seems to be the culprit although I'm not sure about that didn't do any actual testing. Bottom line, even the basic functions of the 100E are slow. Your keyboard is black and the key markings (letters) are very dark. So if you don't use them in a well-lit room, you'd better be a good blind typist. Of course, aside from the mini size, the buttons might not be where you think they are. Everything is very cramped, so even if you're good at typing on the touchscreen, you'll miss the buttons. It's frustrating, but this last issue isn't unique to Lenovo, it's a matter of size. What's a Lenovo thing is the crappy quality of the keys. The travel is weird (too much) and the buttons FEEL like the cheapest plastic ever. Even from a $100 device, I expected more since it's Lenovo. But the 100E's keys are the worst of any of my 11-inch Chromebooks. Of course, there is no backlight in this price range. Not surprisingly, many people don't feel like they usually need it, but you really do need it with a keyboard this terrible. The top cover is a fingerprint magnet. The case is surprisingly thick and chunky. via USB-C and has 2 such ports. Don't expect miracles for the price but to be honest it's so slow and sluggish I wouldn't even give it to my 4 year old. (He has Walmart's $100 Teqnio Chromebook, which is amazingly good for the money, with a much better screen, buttons, and performance.) It's too sluggish to even use as a CCTV monitor. You can watch Youtube videos on it, but with that terrible screen, it won't be very pretty. I keep it as a backup on my backup computers, maybe throw it in the back seat of my car (without logging into a google account). , for security) or maybe I'll give it to a homeless person or something (Hey McD free wifi + it's 100E + free time = next great American novel) but other than that I just can't recommend it. Not even $100.
