I always find that normal hair ties are never perfect. Two turns and it's too loose, three turns and it looks like it's pulling on the back of the head. These sliding ponytail holders allow you to adjust the elastic both tight and loose as needed. They are pretty easy to install and stay in place once you put them on. I give 4 stars instead of 5 for two reasons: 1) they are expensive. For the price of two, I could buy about 20 regular hair ties. Hopefully they last a lot longer than regular hair ties so it makes up for the price a bit and 2) I don't care how the dangling pieces fit. The elastic bands are strong enough, will not fall off. When you put the hair clip over your ponytail, the dangling elastic bands will funnily protrude over your ponytail. If you twist them under the ponytail, they hang directly at the neck and do not go into the ponytail. In the end I leave them aside
